June 2026

Reflect. Recalibrate. Recommit.

Welcome to your June edition — as we cross the halfway point of the year, it's time to take stock, reset your focus, and build the momentum that will carry you through Q3 and Q4.

From the Desk of The Hasten Group

Halftime is a moment of truth. You now have 6 months of real data — about your market, your team, your habits, and yourself. The question isn't whether you hit every goal. The question is: what will you do with what you now know? The leaders and entrepreneurs who thrive in the second half of the year are the ones who use June not to lament the first half, but to aggressively plan and prepare for what's ahead. Let's get to work.

Mid-Year Reset

Halftime: Review, Reset, Recommit

June marks the midpoint of the year — a natural inflection point that most entrepreneurs let slip by without reflection. Don't make that mistake. A halftime review is one of the highest-value activities you can invest in this month.

Pull out the goals you set in January. Which ones are on track? Which ones have stalled? More importantly: are these still the right goals given what you've learned in the past six months?

Your 3-part halftime review: (1) Celebrate what you've accomplished — seriously, don't skip this. (2) Honestly assess what didn't happen and why. (3) Set your top 3 priorities for Q3 with full commitment.

Leadership

How to Lead a High-Stakes Team Meeting

Most team meetings are a waste of time because they lack structure, purpose, and psychological safety. A great leader transforms the meeting room into a decision engine.

Before every important meeting, answer these three questions: What decision needs to be made? Who needs to be in the room? What does 'done' look like at the end of this meeting?

During the meeting: start with the most important agenda item, not the easiest. Invite dissent explicitly — ask 'What am I missing?' or 'Who sees this differently?' The best decisions are made when all perspectives are heard before the vote.

Business Strategy

Summer Slump? Turn It Into a Growth Season

Many entrepreneurs fear the summer slowdown. But the most strategic leaders use this season to do what they never have time for during peak season: systems-building, team development, and strategic planning.

June through August is the perfect time to: document your SOPs, upgrade your tech stack, train your team, rebuild your marketing content bank, and shore up the operational cracks before Q4 demand hits.

Ask yourself: If business doubled in September, would my systems handle it? If the answer is no, you have your summer project.

Mindset

The Entrepreneur's Biggest Enemy: Comparison

Social media has turned comparison into a full-time sport — and entrepreneurs are especially vulnerable. You see someone else's success and suddenly your progress feels small. Your path feels slow. Your results feel inadequate.

Here's the truth: you are comparing your behind-the-scenes to someone else's highlight reel. You don't see their failed launches, their debt, their anxiety, or their pivots. You see the polished outcome.

This month's mindset reset: compete only with yesterday's version of yourself. Track your own progress, celebrate your own wins, and run your own race. That is the only race worth running.

5 Quick Wins for June

  • 1.Schedule your Q3 planning session before June ends — don't let July arrive without a plan.
  • 2.Do a mid-year financial review: revenue vs. target, expenses vs. budget, and profitability trends.
  • 3.Reconnect with 3 past clients or prospects who went quiet. A simple check-in can reopen doors.
  • 4.Take one full day off this month — completely unplugged. Rest is a performance strategy.
  • 5.Update your LinkedIn with recent wins, new services, or a fresh perspective article.

June Challenge

The Halftime Score Card

Rate yourself 1–10 in five areas: Vision Clarity, Team Health, Sales Pipeline, Financial Discipline, and Personal Leadership. Wherever you score below a 7, that becomes your Q3 focus area. Honest assessment is the first step to meaningful progress.
